More information

As a naturopath, Melanie interprets blood tests differently. Doctors use extremely wide reference ranges, and as long as you’re in that range, you are told ‘you are fine.’ However, if you are at either end of that range, you will not be feeling your best and you will likely have symptoms and issues already beginning.

Through her blood test interpretation, Melanie will interpret your recent blood tests and send you her findings. She’ll also clearly explain what you need to do to rectify any imbalances with what supplements and what dosages to help you get back to your best self.

What’s included?

With our naturopathic expertise, we will be able to guide you on making the necessary lifestyle changes and suggest the right supplements to address any hormonal imbalances or nutritional deficiencies that may arise from the test results.

After purchasing your Blood Test Interpretation, please send your blood tests to hello@thenatalnaturopath.com.au with your full name and order number #. Also include any diagnosed health conditions and supplements/medications you are taking.

You’ll have your results back within two weeks.

Pregnancy blood test interpretation online

Are you feeling unwell during pregnancy, but your doctor's blood tests are all coming back "normal"? You may need a different perspective.

The Natal Naturopath offers a blood test interpretation service specifically for pregnant women. Our naturopath, Melanie, is qualified at reading blood test results in Australia, and uses a unique approach to interpret blood test results with a focus on the specific needs of pregnant women. Unlike doctors who use broad reference ranges, Melanie understands that even if your results fall within the normal range, they may not be optimal for your pregnancy.

Through her blood test interpretation, Melanie will identify any imbalances or deficiencies that may be impacting your health during pregnancy. She'll provide you with personalised recommendations for lifestyle changes and supplements tailored to support the unique needs of your pregnancy. Whether you're experiencing fatigue, nausea, or other symptoms, Melanie can help you get back to feeling your best.

More questions about our blood test interpretation service & understanding blood test results in Australia

Why is blood testing important during pregnancy?

Blood testing is important during pregnancy to monitor the health of both the mother and the developing foetus. These lab tests look at things like the levels of your red blood cells, white blood cells as well as kidney function and liver function. They also determine your blood type, and identify any potential health concerns or medical conditions, such as anaemia, liver disease, or gestational diabetes, that may need to be addressed to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

Blood tests can also provide valuable information about the baby's health, such as detecting genetic abnormalities or foetal distress. Regular blood testing throughout pregnancy is an important part of prenatal care and can help identify and address any issues early on.

When should I get a pregnancy blood test interpretation online?

Pregnancy blood test interpretation is recommended after you have received the results of your routine blood tests from your healthcare provider. This typically occurs during your first prenatal visit, which is usually scheduled between 8-12 weeks of pregnancy.

However, additional blood tests may be performed throughout your pregnancy to monitor your health and the health of your baby. If you have concerns about your blood test results or are experiencing symptoms that may be related to a hormonal imbalance or nutritional deficiency, you may want to consider getting a pregnancy blood test interpretation from a qualified naturopathic practitioner.

What kind of blood tests are done during pregnancy?

Several types of blood tests can be done during pregnancy, including:

  • Blood typing and Rh factor: Determines your blood type and whether you are Rh-positive or Rh-negative.
  • FBC (Full Blood Count): Checks the levels of different blood cells, including red blood cell count, white blood cell count, and platelet volume.
  • Glucose screening test: Checks for gestational diabetes, a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy.
  • STD testing: Screens for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B.
  • Iron levels: Measures the amount of iron in your blood to check for anaemia.
  • Rubella immunity: Checks whether you are immune to rubella, a viral infection that can cause serious birth defects.
  • Group B strep: Checks for a type of bacteria that can cause infections in newborns.

What are the reference ranges for blood tests in Australia?

The reference ranges for pregnancy blood tests in Australia may vary depending on the specific test being conducted and the laboratory performing the analysis. Generally, reference ranges are established based on the values observed in a large population of healthy individuals. It's important to note that reference ranges for pregnant women may differ from those for non-pregnant women.

Some common blood tests performed during pregnancy include full blood count (FBC), glucose tolerance test (GTT), and screening for infectious diseases such as hepatitis B, syphilis, and HIV. Melanie can perform a blood test interpretation online and can provide more information on the reference ranges for your specific blood tests.
